Executed under a rigorous method statement, this project involved the design and installation of complex Sheet Pile Cofferdams to facilitate the construction of the river intake structure, conveying pipelines, and the access bridge. The Rajshahi WASA Water Treatment Plant project required the installation of over 3,500 tons of steel sheet piles, making it one of the most steel-intensive cofferdam works in the region.
The project was executed entirely within an active river, where high hydrostatic pressure and strong currents demanded precision river engineering and watertight construction.
Complex Sheet Pile Cofferdams were used to create a dry and secure working environment, enabling safe construction of the river intake structure in challenging conditions.
More than 4,000 tons of steel sheet piles were precisely driven and handled to ensure structural integrity and water tightness throughout construction.
Challenges Of RWASA Project
Bangladesh has some remote areas where there is less opportunity to use any road for any kind of construction work. For construction purposes, construction equipment can’t be carried by road. So there is only one opportunity to reach there and doing any construction work by waterways. So that those areas need a permanent jetty for doing those works. Using of jetty construction is increasing day by day in Dhaka including allover in Bangladesh. We served any types of jetty construction in Dhaka also in whole Bangladesh. The first step in the construction of the mangrove island was to establish conditions that are ideal for the growth of mangrove. To achieve this, we conducted an extensive feasibility study and applied targeted eco-engineering. We investigated the interaction with waves and currents, how water flows through and drains from the soil, the type of soil in which mangrove trees thrive, the interaction with other plants and species… And we looked at the type of protection juvenile mangrove trees need during the first months of their development.
